NYCSHS 2020 Convention Status

(April 6, 2020 Update – Date Change)

TO THE MEMBERSHIP

As you are all aware, the current State and Federal efforts to combat the Covid-19 Virus outbreak have resulted in major upheaval of business and social affairs. This includes the planned 50th Anniversary Convention and Annual Meeting of our Society which has been scheduled for May 15 through 17, 2020 at the Holiday Inn – Independence, Ohio.

Given the importance of our Golden Anniversary, your Board of Directors and Convention Committee collectively decided to reschedule this event as opposed to outright cancellation.

Because of the concern for the health of our members and the emergency situation resulting from the Covid-19, the Convention has been postponed and will be held from August 28 – 30, 2020.

All current registrations will be transferred to the new date. If you plan to attend the Convention in August you need to do nothing for your registrations.

If you do not wish to have your registrations moved to the new dates, please contact Ralph Schiring at rschiring@cox.net or 402-203-5931 and he will arrange for a refund.

The Holiday Inn Cleveland South asks that you contact them to move or cancel your room reservations if you have already made them.  If you have not yet made reservations for rooms at the hotel you should do that now. They can be reached at 216-524-8050.  Mention Railroad Historical Society to obtain the convention room rate.
