Dear Adirondack Scenic Railroad Supporter:
Thanks to you, over 70,000 passengers enjoyed a historic rail journey into the heart of the Adirondack Park, spending time with family and friends, witnessing one of the most beautiful areas of New York State.
A recent Polar Express passenger said, “It was a great experience for my kids (5 & 10 years) they both loved it. [We rode in] coach class [and] they had a blast. The trip there of over 2 hours [was] well worth it. [We] would recommend this to anyone even if you’re an adult, [it was] fun for the whole family! Definitely a special night with for [the kids] with many memories. Thanks very much to the staff!!”
Brett, who rode a fall foliage trip in October said of the Railroad, “[It’s] a great operation from [the start at the] station, to the train and back. Great foliage up to Big Moose, this trip covers a great deal of distance for a scenic railroad by the way! Comfortable clean train [with] friendly staff who obviously really care about what they do. Good and quick lunch at the Big Moose, with the added bonus of supporting a local restaurant! Wouldn’t have thought to visit Utica without [the Railroad] and I’m now very glad I made the trip!”
This past year has been incredibly successful for the Adirondack Scenic Railroad as the organization celebrated its 25th Anniversary, finished renovating coach #5488, completed clearing and brush cutting the out of service track from Big Moose to Tupper Lake, purchased two new passenger cars at auction, won a $1.5 million grant for equipment restoration, and won our court case challenging the State’s decision to rip up 34 miles of the 141 miles of track on which we operate.
Would you be willing to make a special year-end donation of $20, $50 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal of continuing to expand service to carry over 85,000 passengers next year? We simply can’t make these special memories without your support, which makes a real, lasting impact in the communities that the Adirondack Scenic Railroad serves.
