The NYCSHS Introduces It’s First Exclusive Structure Model Kit!!
HO-Scale NYC Section House
This section house was the mainstay of track maintenance for many decades on railroads. The NYC placed their unique structures every few miles on the right of way so crews had ready access to tools and supplies. Also, a speeder was stored there so the track gang could move easily up and down their assigned stretch of track.

This Model Kit of the Standard New York Central – 14’ X 20’ Section House is an accurate representation of the prototype structure and is based on original NYC Engineering Department Drawings. This kit is the result of the collaboration between the New York Central System Historical Society and The Trainmaster LLC.
Since 2013, the NYCSHS modeling magazine, NYCentral Modeler, has been presenting the permanent features From the Engineering Department and The Harmon Files, conducted by Manuel Duran-Duran and Larry Faulkner respectively. These articles feature digital 3D models and Cad drawings of signature NYC structures of the Hudson and Electric Division and are based on historic drawings currently available in the NYCSHS Archives Collections. The Harmon Files, shows the means and methods for creating a scale model of each building presented in the drawing article.
