NYCentral Modeler 4th Qtr. 2013
Kyle Coble Models with 3-D Printing
In this exciting issue one of our younger members, Kyle Coble, shares with us the latest technology for modeling. Take a look at the Big Four caboose and reefer that he built using 3-D printing. This is an interesting new way to obtain models that manufacturers don’t offer. Don’t miss the “Adventures in 3-D Printing” by Kyle.
This edition includes Roger Hensley’s “East Central Indiana Railroad” layout and “Modeling NYC Circuit Breaker Houses” by Larry Faulkner using plans drawn by Manuel Duran-Duran in the “NYC Engineering Department” regular feature. You will also hear how Rick De Candido modeled a NYC USRA caboose and see Charles Carter’s article on “Scratchbuilding a ‘NYC’ EMD NW-5”.
Dennis Regan & Bob Keeler represented the NYCSHS at the 7th St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modelers meet and share with us their adventures at the meet.
Our NYCSHS President, Rich Stoving reminds us that all of us have taken “Time Out” from our modeling and tells us what he did in the ten-year break he took.
Ray Wilcox has a fine collection of NYC locomotives and rolling stock and in this edition shares those with us with a series of wonderful videos on You Tube. We provide the links and you can enjoy the shows.
