The 4th Quarter 2011 issue of the Central Headlight is in the mail to all NYCSHS members in good standing. The lead is a short photo essay salute to the glory of steam in the winter. The main article is a continuation of Tom Flagg’s study of New York Harbor operations, this part focusing on port facilities. Included is a great four-page, fold-out map of the entire harbor, as prepared by the NYC Engineering Department in 1921. Five additional short articles plus the usual columns fill out this exciting issue.
